Since the birth of Leavers Looms in the early 19th century, we have been perfecting the quality of our creations and the diversity of our collections. Leavers lace has attributes and qualities that set it apart from other lace variations, such as:
- The endless patterns and textures thanks to 15,000 threads controlled and moved by hundreds of bars
- The finest lace with a unique transparency
- Its strong resistance
- Its three-dimensionality
Here is some insight into our creations:
Chantilly lace is known for its fine ground, outlined pattern and abundant detail.
Originally named for a city in France, Chantilly lace dates back to the 17th century and is the most light & delicate of all lace. Predominantly produced with a floral motif, Solstiss also creates Chantilly lace in geometric patterns.
Guipure lace (also called Venetian lace) is a heavy lace with no net background. The pattern is made by a series of close embroidery stitches onto a fine fabric that disintegrates in the finishing process so that the backing fabric cannot be seen in the finished piece.
Our exquisite floral and geometric pattern laces are embellished or re-embroidered. Crystals, paillettes, sequins, feathers, beads, cording and ribbons add an elegant, ornate facet to our creations.
The Solstiss stretch lace collection is feminine, delicate and versatile. Perfect for Intimates and Swim collections, new patterns and colors are launched each season.
Our latest novelty laces include Calandering and applications of Silicone, PVC film and TPU film creating a new hand and new uses for our product. These, as well as innovations in dyeing techniques, including Ombré and the use of new yarns are the fruits of the Solstiss dedicated R&D team.
